CONCERT AND FORUM FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN RUSSIA
Great musicians such as Leonard Bernstein, Mstislav Rostropovich and Yehudi Menuhin, among others, have raised their voices to support the struggle for freedom. Kremerata Baltica and Gidon Kremer joined by other world renowned artists from the worlds of music, acting and literature want to continue this tradition. With the event “To Russia with Love” the participating artists together with various human rights organizations, who are active for many years in German-Russian projects of civil society co-operation want to raise awareness for the deteriorating human rights situation in Russia with a special event called “To Russia with Love”.
"To Russia with Love" will take place on October 7, 2013, the seventh anniversary of the killing of the journalist and government critic Anna Politkovskaya. It is a tribute to her and the bravery of those in Russia who, despite of all the threats, continue their fight for human rights.
